    Frequently Asked Questions

The Reflections program is a creative arts contest run by the National PTA that allows students from Pre-K through Grade 12 to showcase their artistic talents in various categories. Each year, students are invited to reflect on a common theme and create original works of art in one or more of the following categories:

    • Visual Arts (painting, drawing, photography, etc.)
    • Literature (poetry, short stories, essays)
    • Music Composition (instrumental, vocal, original scores)
    • Dance Choreography (individual or group performances)
    • Film Production (short films, animations, etc.)
    • Photography (capturing moments, scenes, or concepts)                               .
    1. Choose a Category: Students can choose one or more categories to enter. Each entry must be the student’s own original work and must address the theme for that year.

    2. Create an Original Work: Students should reflect on the theme and create a piece that expresses their interpretation of it. The work should be unique and original.

    3. Submit Entries: Participants must complete an entry form and submit their work to their local PTA for initial judging.

    4. Judging and Awards: Entries are judged at the school or local PTA level, and winners can advance to the district, state, and even national levels for further recognition and awards.

Reflections provides a platform for students to explore their artistic side, develop their creative skills, and gain confidence in sharing their unique perspectives. It’s an excellent opportunity for students to be recognized for their artistic talents and to inspire others through their work.
